The 'Students With A Goal' (SWAG) Flexible Learning
Program is designed for students who are identified as being at risk of becoming
an early school leaver. Students from both Nambour State College and Burnside SHS may be
referred to SWAG.
The SWAG program supports students to re-engage in
learning and to work towards their identified career goals. Learning activities
include Numeracy and Literacy and various Life Skills programs such as Work
Education, Cooking, Health Education, Volunteering as well as positive leisure
Students are expected to meet minimum behavior and attendance
expectations in order to maintain their place in the program. Students are case
managed and referred to appropriate school-based and community support agencies
as required. The SWAG program operates off-campus from a classroom and office
space located at the Sunshine Coast PCYC.
