Bring Your Own Device

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is a term used to describe a digital device ownership model where students can use their personally-owned mobile devices to access the Education Queensland information and communication network at school. 

As part of the Nambour State College 2020 Vision (PDF, 102KB):

  • Students have 24/7 digital access to learning materials so that they can learn when, where and how they want.
  • Every student has access to an individual learning device that connects them to these learning materials, and classrooms are also equipped with current electronic teaching devices.
  • The college is a learning hub that provides students with open connections to other education providers including virtual schooling, online courses, Universities and TAFE, internships, work experience, and community based learning.

Junior Campus iPad Program 

Nambour State College operates "BYO iPad" classes in Years Prep - 6. 

Step 1 - Students supply their own iPad and protective cover (see Junior Campus iPad Requirements​). Optional to purchase via the ). Optional to purchase via the Apple Family Friendly Portal.

Step 2 - Complete a Junior Campus iPad Program Agreement and return to the Junior Campus Administration. 

Step 3 - Participants are expected to have all the required apps installed and have paid the Student Resource Scheme.

Senior Campus Laptop Program 

Senior Campus Bring your Own Device Program

Nambour State College requires students in Years 7-12 to Bring Your Own Device (iPad, Windows laptop or MacBook). 

ICT Support (under M block) is open for connecting student BYO devices:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8.00am - 9.00am
  • 1st Break
  • 2nd Break
  • 3.00pm - 4.00pm

Step 1 - Students supply their own Bring their Own Device (iPad, Windows laptop or MacBook) and protective hard case (see Senior Campus BYO Laptop Brochure and Senior Campus BYO Laptop Student Charter).  Optional to purchase via the (Windows) ACER, DELL or HP Portals, (iPad or MacBook) Apple Family Friendly Portal. 

Step 2 - complete a connection request form. The annual cost is included in the Student Resource Scheme.

Step 3 - ICT support will then add student to BYO server.

Step 5 - Also install Microsoft Office and any trial versions of Adobe software. Student require a local machine account with admin rights.  Antivirus needs to be turned off prior to connection.
