Nambour State College follows the mandated parts of the Australian National Curriculum to achieve consistency in curriculum, assessment and reporting from Prep to Year 9. Students in Years 10-12 study subjects following the syllabi of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and/or Vocational Education and Training (VET) options.

The Australian Curriculum values, respects and explores the contribution of Asian and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to its contemporary literature and its literary heritage through their distinctive ways of representing and communicating knowledge, traditions and experience.
